A course that is usually conducted in a physical classroom (as opposed to a lab), and frequently involves a lecture format.
A course where most, if not all, learning is conducted online. Students do not have regular face-to-face class meetings and do not have to maintain a regular presence on the campus that is granting the credit.

A course where much if not all of the student learning takes place in a computer lab. This type of course is also called emporium model which can be fixed (no classes outside of the lab) or flexible (some class time is spent outside of the lab).
