Supporting learning through worked examples

In order to facilitate the acquisition of key skills, it’s critically important to provide students with the level of support they need, when they need it. Among the most effective ways to support learners is the incorporation of increasingly complex worked examples into problem-solving sequences.

Worked examples offer step-by-step demonstrations of how to perform a task. They break down the problem-solving procedure into all of the necessary steps and explicitly model these steps for students.

The worked examples in MyLab Statistics can be found under Learning Aids for each homework exercise. Step-by-step videos for how to tackle problems using different types of technology are also available to students in MyLab Statistics.
