Empower each student with personalized learning tools

Each student learns at a different pace. Personalized learning pinpoints the precise areas your students need to practice, giving every student the support they need — when and where they need it — to be successful. Personalized learning in MyLab Math gives instructors the flexibility to incorporate the approach that best suits the needs of their courses and students.

  • Available for select MyLab courses, Skill Builder offers adaptive practice that is designed to increase students' ability to complete their assignments. By monitoring student performance on their homework, Skill Builder adapts to each student's needs and provides just-in-time, in-assignment practice to help them improve their proficiency of key learning objectives.
  • With Personalized Homework, students take a quiz or test and receive a subsequent homework assignment that is personalized based on their performance. This way, students can focus on just the topics they have not yet mastered.

Promote conceptual understanding

Successful students have the ability to apply their knowledge to new situations and contexts. Making connections with mathematical concepts helps students internalize difficult ideas needed for success in current and future courses.

Interactive MyLab™ Math and MyLab™ Statistics courses offer a new type of digital learning experience. Written entirely in MyLab and powered by new Interactive Assignments, the courses encourage students to interact with material in new, dynamic, and engaging ways.

Support corequisite and redesign course models

Corequisite and Redesign-Ready Course Options

Across the country, students are arriving at institutions without the math skills essential for success in college-level courses. Pearson offers a variety of content and course options to support students with just-in-time remediation and key-concept review as needed.

  • MyLab Math with Integrated Review courses: Available for Developmental Mathematics through Calculus, Integrated Review courses can be used for just-in-time prerequisite review or for co-requisite courses. They provide videos on review topics along with pre-made, assignable skill-review quizzes and personalized homework assignments integrated throughout your regular MyLab Math course content.
  • Redesign-Ready Course Options: Many new course models have emerged in recent years, as institutions "redesign" to help improve retention and results. At Pearson, we’re focused on tailoring solutions to support your plans and programs. In addition to the new Integrated Review courses, we offer new All-in-One solutions, non-STEM pathways, and STEM track options.

Engage students in the learning process

MyLab Exercises and Learning Catalytics

Students are motivated to succeed when they're engaged in the learning experience and understand the relevance and power of math. Through online homework, students receive immediate feedback and tutorial assistance that motivates them to do more, which means they retain more knowledge, improve their test scores, and perform better in future courses.

  • Homework and practice exercises in MyLab Math reflect the instructor’s choice of approach and learning style, and regenerate algorithmically to give students unlimited opportunity for practice and mastery. Instructors can choose from the many exercises available for the author’s approach—or even choose additional exercises from other MyLab Math titles. Most exercises include learning aids, such as guided solutions, sample problems, and extra help at point-of-use, and offer helpful feedback when students enter incorrect answers.
  • Learning Catalytics generate class discussion, guide your lecture, and promote peer-to-peer learning with real-time analytics. MyLab Math and MyLab Statistics now provide Learning Catalytics—an interactive student response tool that uses students’ smartphones, tablets, or laptops to engage them in more sophisticated tasks and thinking. Instructors can:
    • Pose a variety of open-ended questions that help your students develop critical thinking skills
    • Monitor responses to find out where students are struggling
    • Use real-time data to adjust your instructional strategy and try other ways of engaging your students during class
    • Manage student interactions by automatically grouping students for discussion, teamwork, and peer-to-peer learning.

Better understand student performance

Data & Analytics

When you teach with MyLab Math, student performance improves. That's why instructors have chosen MyLab for over 20 years, touching the lives of over 50 million students. MyLab Math gives instructors a comprehensive gradebook with enhanced reporting functionality that makes it easier for instructors to manage courses efficiently.

  • With the Reporting Dashboard, you can view, analyze, and report learning outcomes, and get the information you need to keep your students on track. Available via the Gradebook and fully mobile-ready, the Reporting Dashboard presents student performance data at the class, section, and program levels in an accessible, visual manner. Its finegrain reports allow instructors and administrators to compare performance across different courses, across individual sections and within each course.
  • Item Analysis: Track class-wide understanding of particular exercises so you can refine your class lectures or adjust the course/department syllabus. Just-in-time teaching has never been easier.
