Pearson authors have developed the following features within MyLab Math to help students build study skills.
A variety of authors have developed note-taking guides that correlate to their respective College Algebra, Algebra & Trigonometry, Trigonometry, and Precalculus texts. Each note-taking guide has a slightly different “flavor” depending on the author’s philosophy. Overall, the note-taking guides are meant to help focus the student on important concepts in texts and/or videos, while giving them a place to take structured, organized notes.
There are several best practices associated with implementing note-taking guides. For example, author Kirk Trigsted believes that implementing his Guided Notebook in his College Algebra course at the University of Idaho is the #1 predictor of student success. 90% of his students who received a 100% on open notebook quizzes received an A, B, or C in his course.
Skills for Success Modules are integrated with MyLab Math courses to help students succeed in collegiate courses and prepare for future professions. Topics such as “Time Management,” “Stress Management,” and “Financial Literacy” are available for you to assign to your students.
The following programs are specifically designed to help your students be better prepared.
