To challenge her students to be responsible for their own learning, Atkin adopted MyLab Marketing so they would read the appropriate chapter content and complete assignments prior to attending lecture, hoping to impact long-term retention. Data suggest that those students successfully completing the MyLab homework earned higher quiz, exam, and final course scores than those who earned lower scores on these formative assignments.

In addition, students who completed most of the MyMarketingLab assignments had average summative chapter quiz grades 15 percentage points higher than students who skipped at least three assignments.

Data indicate that students earning higher MyMarketingLab scores achieved higher average exam and final course grades. In addition, data from before and after MyMarketingLab implementation show that, on average, students earned higher exam and final course grades when MyMarketingLab was required.
