Overall student pass rates in all courses implementing digital direct access have increased four percentage points since its implementation in Fall 2014. Pass rates in developmental math, which uses MyLab Math in an emporium model, have increased nearly 8 percentage points since digital direct access was introduced.

Data for this course indicate a strong positive correlation between MathXL homework grades and final course grades. Additionally, students who performed below average on their initial exam but earned higher than average MathXL grades throughout the course experienced increasingly higher exam averages for Exam 2 through the Final Exam.

Critics of dual enrollment/accelerated programs point to a variety of issues, including unqualified instructors and decreased rigor. Both the Louisiana State University Dual Enrollment and College Readiness Program and the Tennessee State SAILS Program use MyMathLab to address these potential pitfalls head-on and ensure that their students succeed beyond the dual credit course or bridge program and through to a degree.

More than 30 percent of students in redesigned courses were able to complete the sequence in less time than they could have via traditional course format.
